Last night ...

... was the first time the three of us were together in our house. Of course Galen was noisy. Of course we were woken loads of times. Of course we were quite the amateur parents. All this was completely to be expected. Within parameters, one might say. So, you know, no big shock there.

What does shock me is that I still managaed to catch a decent amount of sleep. Past, let's say, five o'clock, the little tyke quieted down a bit, or my super-duper-sleep-ability kicked in and I just didn't hear him anymore.

The main thing is that Galen and I woke up together to greet the new day and a new nurse. It's a special kind of woman, I can tell you that right now, who does this job. No-nonsense, strong, completely convinced ...
